Welcome back to The Muse-Letter. This week we are summarizing David Guetta's latest achievements while also looking into Kenny Beats and discussing his performance on Tiny Desk Concert. Then I also plugged my recent YouTube video as well as a creative plugin. Let's get into it!

This Week in Producer News 📰

David Guetta wins Producer of the Year and Performs with AI

David Guetta has received the Producer of the Year BRIT award for 2023. Everyone knows a song produced by David Guetta. The French DJ has been in the music industry for almost 4 decades.

Guetta performed at the BRIT awards alongside Becky Hill, Ella Henderson, and Sam Ryder. Guetta was also nominated for International Song of the Year for his collaborated song with Bebe Rexha ‘I’m good’ which he performed with Ryder who pulled out his guitar for a wicked solo moment alongside the legendary DJ.

Guetta said in a statement, “I am very honoured to receive ‘Producer of the Year’, I have always felt a strong connection to British music and culture. The UK music scene is full of world-class artists and producers so to be recognised like this means a lot to me. Thank you so much!”

Congratulations, David Guetta, this award is beyond well-deserved!

Guetta was recently in the news after he posted on his social media showing how artificial intelligence can replicate the voices of other artists in the music industry. I have seen a video where a Billie Eilish song now sounds like Ariana Grande is singing it, and it's oddly realistic. You would think it was Ariana rather than an AI-created version.

Last week, Guetta shared a video of himself playing a song in the midst of a set using AI technology to add the voice of Eminem to one of his songs.

“Let me introduce you to… Emin-AI-em,” Guetta wrote as his Twitter post’s caption. In the video, Guetta is seen in front of a massive crowd playing the unreleased track that features a replica of Eminem’s voice. Eminem’s voice echoes into the arena saying, “This is the future rave sound/I’m getting awesome and underground.”

The video also featured an interview with Guetta, where he talked about how the remix came together through the use of AI-generating websites. “Eminem bro, there’s something that I made as a joke and it works so good — I could not believe it!” he said. “Basically you can write lyrics in the style of any artist you like, so I typed: ‘write a verse in the style of Eminem about future rave,’ and I went to another AI website that can recreate the voice. I put the text in that and I played the record and people went nuts.” Guetta made sure to clarify that he would “obviously” not be commercially distributing the song.

If he were to release it, I know I would find it wicked to see that in concert. It looks like a vibe in the short clip.

Kenny Beats Tiny Desk Concert

Kenny Beats is one of the most sought-after producers of music at the moment and he just dropped his 'Tiny Desk Concert'.

Kenny has worked with Ed Sheeran, Vince Stapples, Doja Cat, IDLES, Benee and more. He works in mzny genres and enjoys finding ways to merge them to create a new sound. 

Kenny says at the end of his performance on Tiny Desk, "I know producers don't always get to do stuff like this. I'm very lucky I get to do a lot of stuff people with my job titles don't get to do" 

His latest album is dedicated to his father, and it takes us on an emotional journey through unfathomable emotions regarding our parents. Kenny recruited his friends to help transfer the feelings by using their touching vocals over soulful beats.

You can't help but watch Kenny as he listens to his friends perform with him and how much he's vibing and feeling the music. It's very authentic and highly recommend checking it out.
